Central Ohio Orienteering: Alley Park October Event Recap

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for a warm, sunny day of orienteering at Alley Park in Lancaster!

• Community Partners: We are excited to partner with Lancaster Parks & Rec for future events in the Lancaster area. COO is happy to share park program info to help people enjoy the outdoors near them, and we hope to identify future event locations among Lancaster's parks!
  
  

• Radio Orienteering (ARDF): Members of the Lancaster & Fairfield County Amateur Radio Club joined us to discuss combining foot and radio orienteering at future events. To put-on a radio orienteering event, an amateur radio license is required—check out hamstudy.org and k8qik.org for study and exam sessions, respectively.
  
  

• Thank You: Special thanks to Shin and Chiori for course feedback and setting controls early in the morning; Allison, Michelle, and Todd for helping folks get started with instructions; Allison, Jonah, and Chris for handling electronic timing; and Laura, Michelle, Mike, Glen, Steve, Chris, and Ron for quick and efficient control pickup! I hope I've remembered everyone! It was so efficient that it was almost like we were never even there!
